【2025/10/28】Pre-COP30 Webinar “Connecting Brazil and Japan through ‘Mutirão'”
The Climate Reality Project Japan Pre-COP30 Webinar
From November 10 to 21, 2025, COP30 (the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change) will be held in Belém, Brazil.
Rooted in the traditions of Brazil’s Indigenous peoples, the word “Mutirão” means “large-scale collective work of people towards a common goal.” It has attracted attention worldwide as a slogan that inspires climate action.
As part of the Mutirão leading up to COP30, The Climate Reality Project Japan will host a special pre-COP30 webinar!
In this webinar, we will welcome guest speakers from Brazil, the host country of COP30. First, we will hear from Thalison Correa, a staff member at the CRP Brazil branch who has long been involved in climate education in Brazil and has played an important role in advancing the climate education agenda at COP. Bringing in perspectives from Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, he will share the latest developments in Brazil and insights into civil society movements.
Next, we will welcome Roseli Silva, a Brazil-born, Japan-based biologist and member of CRP Japan’s Biodiversity Action Group. She will talk about the connection between forests and climate change, drawing on her research expertise and her on-the-ground involvement in local forest conservation in Japan.
In addition, CRP Japan will present on the actions being taken to spread widely the position paper we created this year—our first ever that reflects the voices of CRP Leaders in Japan.
