【Important】 Transition of The Climate Reality Project Japan Branch to Tokyo Hub
Transition of The Climate Reality Project Japan Branch to Tokyo Hub
as Part of Global Regional Realignment
The Climate Reality Project (headquartered in Washington D.C., U.S.) is updating its global branch structure to better support the continued growth of its network of Climate Reality Leaders (volunteers who have completed the training) and strengthen regional coordination for climate action.
Climate Reality is realigning its branches, including Japan, to be based in regions that will support an expanded city-based structure to organize Climate Reality Leaders in their local communities. This realignment fosters continued growth and creates a clear pipeline for newly trained Climate Reality Leaders to start or join a city-based group to take coordinated and impactful climate action in their communities.
As part of this transition, operations in the Japan branch will be scaled down and transitioned to a city-based Tokyo Hub which will no longer have local staff and organized by Climate Reality Leaders (volunteers). The Asia branch coordination will be based out of the Philippines, supporting city-based hubs across the region. We anticipate this transition to be completed by summer 2026.
The Climate Reality Project Japan has contributed significantly to building a strong community of volunteers from various backgrounds and advancing grassroots climate actions across Japan. Through this transition, the Tokyo Hub will continue community-led climate actions, while strengthening collaboration within the broader Asia region.
Please wait for further notice regarding the details of the new hub model and programs.
